in the quality of life – physical and mental. i’m all for natural stuff but im not for wasting my time.
There are several types of yoga, but people usually mean hatha yoga – yoga of the body – when they say yoga. So I will assume you mean that.
The various exercises in yoga are designed to enhance the flow of life support mechanisms around the body. In yoga it is called prana, and this is what provides our health and vitality. A yoga practitioner develops a very strong immune system, and is therefor less likely to succumb to illness. Additionally, the body becomes more supple, and stronger, and is less likely to suffer from aches and pains form sprains and twists.
Meditation is like a yoga of the mind.
Once we have learned to concentrate our minds on one thing, and can control the mind instead of the mind controlling us, then we begin to go ever deeper inward, and discover exactly what it is that makes us tick. We discover why we think the way we do, and also where there is false logic in our belief system. We discover that much of our life has been based on fallacious assumptions, and as a result our belief system gradually changes, advancing one stage at a time, until we are a more spiritually advanced and better person than before.
There is no chance of you wasting your time.
