I recorded a small portion of my yoga class. Each position has been cut significantly, as we normally hold each pose for 5 deep breaths or approximately 30-45 seconds; not exactly entertaining when sitting and watching a video
But I did leave in the parts where I’m explaining proper form, so if anyone wants to try any of these poses, make sure you listen carefully to what I’m saying. If you like it, I’ll be happy to record some different positions at another time.

The Fibromyalgia …
The Fibromyalgia finally got bad enough that I had to quit teaching ALL types of fitness classes =( Now I just do it at home, for half as long as I used to. But I have been thinking about making a video of some of my home workouts.

Well, I had been …
Well, I had been teaching aerobics non-stop for 16 years, and taught Spinning as well, before I took my first yoga class. And I couldn’t believe how hard it was! Your body responds to whatever you make it do. But yoga was working my muscles differently. Yoga is all isometric and isotonic. It’s unlike 95% of every other type of exercise. But it’s SO worth it! I got better results from yoga/pilates than anything else I had ever done.

I work out regularly, so it shouldn’t be a problem. I lift some weights, and do some cardio. Do you think that would help?

Wow…I’ve only now noticed that this video was taken a while back.
I’m really sorry to hear about your symptom
I dropped much of my old activities including martial arts simply due to overwhelming school work and sheer laziness
I hope you get well soon:)
I’m subbing as well, thought you liked to know.

It doesn’t sound …
It doesn’t sound weird at all. I had to stop teaching last year =( I really miss it. But the Fibromyalgia just got too bad for anything at all. However, after a year of letting my muscles really rest, I’ve started walking a couple miles, 2-3X per week, and started adding yoga after my walk about 2 weeks ago, then I pulled out my pilates tools last week. I’m hoping that after years of this pain, I’m finally getting better. It feels like it. I’m praying for a miracle!

(Yeah, sounds weird, I know)
I’m a black belt in karate, and I know all those routines by heart
Yoga and stretching takes at least 30 minutes off of any martial arts session.
Thanks, it brought back memories

But it gets easier. You have to build up more strength than you realize.
Don’t be surprised at how hard it is!
